Come by Chance, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada – Today, Braya Renewable Fuels (Braya) celebrated an exciting milestone for the Come By Chance refinery when it completed its first sale of renewable diesel for the Canadian market.
The sale of 100,000 barrels of renewable diesel to a Canadian customer for the Canadian market, with the possibility of additional deliveries in the future, marks a positive expansion in Braya’s customer base, and further signals the growth of the Canadian renewable energy market.
“Today’s milestone is the result of the dedication, determination, and resilience of the team we have here in Come By Chance,” said Paul Burton, Refinery Manager at Braya. “I would like to thank all of the hard-working personnel at the refinery who made today’s milestone possible, and express my deepest appreciation for everyone at Braya. Our team here is second-to-none and continues to prove what can be achieved when we work together.”
Braya is proud to provide renewable fuel to Canada and contribute to its domestic energy security as a Canadian producer. Braya’s participation in the Canadian market is enabled by recently-enacted Canadian government programs to address developing competitive shifts in global renewable fuel markets.
“The expansion of our customer base into the Canadian energy market is the realization of a goal that we set out to achieve when we began our commercial operations two years ago, said Todd O’Malley, Chief Executive Officer at Braya. “Canadian industry sees the long-term value, and necessity, of transitioning to a low-carbon economy, and Braya is proud to be a reliable producer for Canada’s most critical industries as they transition to a greener future. We strongly encourage the Canadian government to continue to strengthen policies allowing Braya to participate in the Canadian fuel market.”
This sale is a significant step in Braya’s continued expansion into multiple global markets. This important milestone was achieved through assistance from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador as it continues to support key industries which are integral to the Province’s economy.
